Well the
Sunsets/Sunrises Contest by *
naturephotographer is now over. For those of you who don't know, I had entered my deviation
Pacific Sunset into the contest. I am very pleased to announce that I finished
third place out of the 26 entries! I would like to thank everyone who voted for me, and I would also like to congratulate the other winners, *
bypolar-bear who won first place, and =
imurpurpose who finished ahead of me in second place. Each of their winning entries are featured below. I also want to take this time to give a special thank you to those who have added
Pacific Sunset to their favourites recently, and especially those who have featured it in their own journals. I would appreciate a comment or note if I get featured, that way I could check it out and personally thank you for it. Here's my third place winner, Pacific Sunset.
As some of my watchers may have noticed, I've been making a lot of submissions lately, then they just suddenly stopped about a week ago. I've been really busy, so I haven't had much time to get out to shoot more photos lately. Hopefully this weekend I get a chance to get out again. Just like any photographer, I have some shots backlogged which I haven't submitted, so I may go through them sometime soon and see which ones I feel are worth submitting.
[Edit: submitted a few today]A few days ago, I came across *
laurentroy's journal entry,
Useful dA Resources, and I must agree, they have been very useful! A few years ago when I first got into photography, I learned a lot about the general "rules" and techniques that go into photography, but over time some things have slipped my mind. Reading those resources have brought them fresh into my head again (and I learned some new stuff too), so let's hope I apply some of that to my coming photo shoots. I'd recommend everyone to check it out, even if photography isn't your forte. There are resources for other types of art as well, and I'm assuming they're just as good! So stop reading this, and look at something more worthwhile

to get squares, you gotta give squares (Robert Fischer)
I've looked at your gallery and know that any type of compliment from you holds gravity. I'm so impressed with your work, and the vivid color you're able to draw out of things. Just sick.
